Service Description

This Advance course teaches alpine skills such as rope work, working with crampons/ice axe, alpine mountain knowledge and much more. Format: 8 hours: 2 hour zoom conference briefing & equipment prep, minimum 6 hours field time with demonstration & practice. This course is designed for advance level backcountry splitboarders with experience and covers the following learning outcomes: ​ - Assessment of advanced splitboarding skills & knowledge base - Alpine avalanche knowledge focus  - Use of alpine tools: ice axe, crampons, harness/rappelling, rope handling and anchor building. - Backcountry travel, transitions and advanced skill building - Terrain management and riding skills on slopes < 40 degrees - Small group dynamics, communication & decision making Pre-requisite: Each student must have the proficiency of several day tours in the backcountry before enrolling in this course.
